My care, My choice Adult Services
There is a wide range of helpful equipment and minor adaptations available that are easily and inexpensively fitted to help you to stay living independently in your own home.
If minor equipment or adaptations are insufficient, the fitting of major adaptations, such as stair lifts and access ramps, can assist you to remain living independently in your own home.
If you are finding it difficult to walk around inside your home there are a number of walking aids available. This could be a walking stick or frame, or maybe a wheelchair.
For older and more vulnerable people living on their own, alarms or detectors in the home are a great way of making contact with someone in an emergency.
If you are unable to move safely around your home, even with mobility equipment, it is probably time you thought about getting help from a care worker.
