The Early Intervention Service
The Early Intervention Service are a team who offer
help with:
- Assistive Technology
- Occupational Therapy
- Reablement
The aim of offering this support is to improve your ability to
carry out everyday tasks that you are currently struggling
with. This ensures that you are given the opportunity to
maintain your independence, health and well being.
The Early Intervention Service will look at your ability to
carry out everyday tasks and, where suitable, design activity
programmes to improve your ability and maintain or regain your
independence. This support will last approximately six weeks and is
free of charge. As well as support we will help you to
consider if equipment or adaptations would improve your situation
to assist you to do things more easily or safely.
If after this you still require support or equipment and
adaptations to keep you independent we will tell you if you are
eligible to access this support from the council. If you are
eligible all equipment is provided free of charge. However,
you may have to contribute to the cost of support, assistive
technology devices or adaptations, depending on your
situation.
If you are not eligible we can provide you with information on
how to access support, equipment, adaptations and other devices
privately.
What should I do if I think I need help?
